Aldo’s coach wants rematch: ‘That happened once and won’t happen again’
Here’s the problem: If Ronda Rousey is getting a rematch with Holly Holm (which Rousey wants to happen at UFC 200), Aldo easily deserves one against McGregor.
McGregor knocked out Aldo in thirteen seconds with a knockout punch heard around the world.
Barring a comeback, the Brazilian’s career may now be summed up in a Vine.
This however was the exact outcome of the fight where McGregor landing a well timed and accurate left hook 13 seconds into the fight.
“So, there wasn’t even a fight, right?” I’ll never fall in any provocation. Aldo was previously the only champion the division had ever known. “I see these shots, I see these sequences and I believe in them”, McGregor told reporters after the fight.
“I feel for Jose”, McGregor said. I think we have to go on to the next now. His movement is silky smooth.
Coincidentally, Aldo also holds the record for the longest average fight time in UFC history, at 21 minutes, according to ESPN.
“Then I’ll go back up after a lightweight contender has emerged and take them out”. After what was admittedly a nasty weight cut, McGregor mentioned that he has aspirations of moving to 155 pounds for a shot at the lightweight title. “That’s not happening. There will be a belt on one shoulder, and a belt on the other”, McGregor said.
“My girlfriend has been there since the start”, McGregor said, per the Irish Mirror.
“I’m bringing these big numbers and the sky’s the limit”.
The UFC 194 card set a new USA record gate of $US10.1million ($NZ15m) and could also break the company’s pay-per-view record of around 1.5m buys. Thank you a lot for the support (and) the positive energy from everyone.
He opened his UFC account with a 67-second win over Marcus Brimmage in April 2013.
And his coach John Kavanagh laid out a possible plan for the first half of 2016.
He was 16 or 17 when he met Tom (The Tank) Egan, who was training in jiu-jitsu, and the two saw the UFC on TV. “And I knew I’d catch him”, he said with a shrug and a smirk before adding “Mystic Mac strikes again”.
What is more certain is that, when McGregor does make his next appearance in the octagon, he’ll do so as a much bigger star.
