Conor McGregor vs Jose Aldo: Translator criticised after getting Aldo’s
In this short clip, “Mystic Mac” is seen practicing the short straight left that knocked Aldo out within 13 seconds of the very first round of their fight.
After watching the fight, Aldo still can’t pinpoint his exact mistake.
The main event of UFC 194 ended in just 13 seconds.
He also thanked the travelling support, saying: “The travelling Irish are untouchable when it comes to creating the atmosphere needed to make a week like this what it was”. Fans will have to wait for McGregor’s next fight to see if curses come in twos.
On Saturday night, the 27-year-old Irishman successfully completed his hostile takeover of Jose Aldo’s UFC featherweight title.
The only other question Rogan got in was about McGregor’s taunts, and the translator muffed Aldo’s answer on that one as well. Although Aldo’s left fist eventually struck, it wasn’t before McGregor countered with a flashing left hand that stunned the former champion.
“It literally rained on Frankie Edgar’s world when I told him that”.
“I think every champion, after losing, and especially the way I lost – no excuses, I lost, he connected with a good strike and was successful – but, of course, I want a rematch. There are people who do great things, but when you combine it all together, when you combine the whole package, the whole animal that is the fight game, I don’t think there’s nobody that does it better than me”.
McGregor is expected to move up to lightweight and fight the victor of Rafael Dos Anjos – Donald Cerrone at UFC on FOX 17 or will fight Frank Edgar at featherweight. UFC President Dana White seemed to echo these comments, while also revealing the promotion would most likely book McGregor against Frankie Edgar instead of the rematch against Aldo. I really don’t care what he says and we’re going to have to come back here.
While Jose may deserve a second shot at besting McGregor, it is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
This is what Aldo actually said: “It didn’t affect me in anything”. If it’s God’s will, I’ll come back stronger and conquer (the belt) for you.
