Tyson Fury snubbed from Britain’s Sports Journalists Association
Fury stunned long-standing champion Wladimir Klitschko in Duesseldorf at the end of last month to win the WBA, IBF and WBO world heavyweight belts.
Fury, who is Catholic, said that among the things that need to happen “before the devil comes home…is homosexuality being legal in countries”.
This led Rutherford to pull out of the event in protest of sharing the limelight with Fury because of his remarks, but he changed his mind after prodding by the BBC and his family. I’d tell the world this is what I am, because I don’t have anything to hide’. “I can actually say I don’t hate anybody”, he told the BBC on Monday. I don’t hate any race, colour, creed, generation, nobody.
PRESENTER Clive Myrie has branded world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury a “d***head” live on air.
The International Boxing Federation said in a statement on Wednesday that the contract it received for the Klitschko-Fury bout on November 28 didn’t have a provision for a rematch, and if it had been aware of one, then it would have allowed a rematch only after a mandatory defense. We’ve got Jamaicans in there, Pakistanis, Indians, Christians, Muslims.
“What about that? Why don’t they broadcast that?”
The BBC has so far refused to remove Fury from the 12-person Sports Personality of the Year shortlist, with the victor of the award set to be announced on December 20.
As opposition to him grows, Fury has abandoned such impressive rhetoric in favour of saying God is about to come and judge us all. “We’re all God’s children”.
West had been reacting to remarks made by the boxer which he understood Fury to connect homosexuality and paedophilia.
Maloney said: “I believe the (British Boxing) Board of Control are having a hearing today”.
The boxer will be asked to explain his comments to the board.
He was also investigated by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) after a member of the public reported him for committing a “hate crime”.
“I’m not a homophobe, I’m not a sexist, I’m not any of those”.
She added: “I think his comments will harm him to get endorsements”. I’ve (had people) being racist towards me for the past 27 years. We don’t hear about the good things that I’m doing. It’s a waste of taxpayers’ money. It’s a waste of taxpayers’ money.
“So, I will still attend SPOTY, to make my family proud and to thank them for the support in my career, and that’s what I plan to do”.
