Kirti Azad: DDCA gave contracts to companies which had false addresses
Later a video presentation was shown produced by Wikileaks4India.
“Our fight is only against corruption, it is nothing personal”, Azad said, though Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has been established as the main target of the exposé.
Let me start out by saying I’m a big fan of the PM and his campaign against corruption.
It also alleged that the DDCA hired office and other equipment at vastly inflated prices, including hiring of laptops at Rs16,000 per day and printers at Rs 3,000 per day.
The former cricketer alleged that the DDCA had given contracts to fake companies, paying them crores of rupees in cash and had fudged auditing. “Not a Trojan horse but Achilles heel; wait till I unmask the behroopiya (impostor)”, Mr Azad said in a tweet.
Reacting to the alleged irregularities in Delhi and District Cricket Association, BJP leader Kirti Azad on Sunday held press conference where he clarified that he is not against any individual, but corruption. “If someone (Mr Jaitley) is raising these allegations, he must know that four fingers will point back at him”, he said.
Defying party chief Amit Shah’s order, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)MP Kirti Azad on Sunday came out with a new video alleging corruption in Delhi District and Cricket Association(DDCA).
Azad felt that, at best, the party would serve him a notice for breaking party discipline, but he also reiterated that he was only going to speak out against corruption and not against any person. “He should be removed”, said Sanjay Singh, another AAP leader. In a Facebook post, Mr Jaitley has said, “The Serious Fraud Investigation Office, under the UPA regime, investigated and could not find a shred of evidence against me”.
