Vladimir Putin endorses “absolute leader” Donald Trump for USA presidency
Putin said it wasn’t Russia’s role “to evaluate his accomplishments” or his campaign rhetoric, but said Trump “remains the absolute front-runner in the presidential race”.
Putin made the remarks when asked about the prospect of a new United States president during his annual news conference in Moscow on Thursday.
He was then asked about Putin’s killing of journalists and his political opponents and invasion of other countries would be “a concern”.
“I think what he’s saying is, you know, a bit of bravado, telling them they’re doing a good job and our military is on the case and we can certainly bring in more”, said Doughterty, a former CNN correspondent who’s now a research scholar.
“Well, you know, isn’t it sort of nice if like countries that we’re always fighting with, maybe we get along and let them do – right?”
“I think it was despicable if that took place, but I haven’t seen any evidence that he killed anybody in terms of reporters”, Trump said. “There’s a lot of stupidity going on in the world right now, a lot of killing, a lot of stupidity”, he stated.
Censoring the Internet, killing innocent families of terrorists, supporting Syria’s bloody dictator-the two men have a lot of positions in common.
“Speaking about Syrian crisis, I can say that it is easy for us to work with President Assad and with the US”.
After the exchange, when directly asked if he condemns Putin killing journalists and political opponents, he agreed, “Absolutely”. “Unlike what we have in this country”.
The Ohio governor’s campaign unveiled a new website and video Saturday satirically touting a Trump-Putin 2016 bid for the White House.
Trump replied by taking a shot at President Obama.
No Republican candidate will dare touch Trump on this one.
“I think I would just get along very well with Vladimir Putin”.
In response, Trump said “It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond”. “He’s a strong leader, he’s a powerful leader, he’s represented his country, and that’s the way the country is being represented”. “On the state level, I don’t see any prospects of improving relations with the Turkish leadership”, he said of Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan. I just think so. Putin’s aggression in Crimea and backing of pro-Russian separatists also played a key role in the downing of a Malaysian Airlines flight in 2014 that killed 298 people.
He said: “We have never closed ourselves off, whomever is elected there”.
