New York Jets: Eric Decker and Brandon Marshall Tie NFL Record

The New York Jets coach insists what other teams are doing in the AFC playoff race won’t change how he’s approaching things.

Through 12 games, the veteran quarterback has been enjoying arguably the best of his 11 years playing in the NFL.

Of course, there are still three games left, and, as Fitzpatrick knows, the future is uncertain.

On Tuesday, New York Jets receiver Brandon Marshall revealed to the media that he gave quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick a copy of Just Give Me the Damn Ball! for Christmas.

“Well, that was not good, ” Titans interim coach Mike Mularkey said afterward. “We’re not that good”. He had a huge game against the New York Giants in his last outing, completing 36 passes for 390 yards and a pair of touchdowns with no interceptions.

Tennessee’s offensive line is among the league’s worst in pass protection and will already have their hands full against Muhammad Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson and Leonard Williams, but throw in a few safety and dog blitzes from Calvin Pryor III and Buster Skrine, and this O-line won’t stand a chance. “We’re taking it one game at a time and looking past no one”. The Titans were outgained 439-292 in the game.

But with the Jets, Marshall said he feels like the offense begins with running back Chris Ivory, and flows from there, to his and Decker’s and everyone else’s benefit.

On a 1 and 10 from the NY 41, running back Antonio Andrews threw to Mariota, who caught the pass on the right sideline and raced to the end zone.

“I think when you have a great team, this is the time you usually click, in November, December and going into the postseason”, Revis said. “I have been playing 10 years, Fitz 11, Deck for six… and also [Decker played] with one of the best quarterbacks ever in Peyton….”

Mariota went 21-for-39 for 274 yards and one costly interception in the Titans’ 30-8 loss to the Jets.

Since earning the starting quarterback job thanks to a right-hook from ex-teammate I.K. Enemkpali, Fitzpatrick has been one of the NFL’s biggest surprises. “He’s made some really good decisions these last three games”. They played a good game, a solid game and didn’t make a lot of mistakes.

“You could make that assumption that he’s been out of the game a little bit and he doesn’t get it, ” Decker said. He owns a 2-4 record since Ken Whisenhunt was sacked November 3. He had four consecutive 100-yard receiving games earlier in the season, but he went under that mark in four of his previous five games prior to a win over the Miami Dolphins at the end of November.

“It’s not acceptable; these will be the consequences if it happens”, Mularkey said.
