Panthers Troll Odell Beckham Jr. After He Copies Cam Newton’s TD Dance
The undefeated Carolina Panthers went to East Rutherford to take on the New York Giants on Sunday, and the Giants weren’t going down easy.

The Panthers have had to win some ugly ones this season. They were absolutely embarrassed by the Carolina Panthers for most of the first three quarters. His 37-yard touchdown pass to Greg Olsen in the second quarter happened because the entire defense went at Newton when he bootlegged to the right. “You see what kind of player he is”, he told reporters. If it weren’t for the right leg of Panthers placekicker GRAHAM GANO who came through with the game-winning field goal, this game would have went to overtime and the Panthers would have had to put up with an awakened Giants offense.
Tune in for today’s Giants vs Panthers game in what should result in Carolina improving to 14-0 and two games away from a flawless regular season. NY was down 28 points and then came roaring back. Big Blue won the last two meetings in 2010 and 2013 by a combined score of 44-10.
Carolina hasn’t lost at all, of course.
The Giants have only won one of their past four games and that win was last week against an abysmal Dolphins squad in the midst of rebuilding. The 18 straight wins match the third-longest string in National Football League history.
Beckham beat Norman on one play early but dropped what would have been a touchdown pass off his hands. And now we have a new duel to get excited about, schedule gods willing.
“We’ve got to find ways of getting better”. Carolina’s dual-threat quarterback rushed eight times for a season-high 100 yards, including a 47-yard run in the first quarter.
“It’s fine if he wants to dance and prance around like a ballerina”, said Norman, “but he shouldn’t try to be something he’s not”.
The officials should have ejected Beckham for that play. The cameras caught him throwing haymakers at defensive back Josh Norman time and time again, and even though he was penalized, he somehow avoided being tossed. Beckham Jr. spent three-and-a-half quarters tussling, taunting, tripping, slapping and all-out head hunting Norman. When no early flags were thrown, not on Norman’s early body slam of Beckham or Beckham’s ensuing retaliatory swing, the tone was set.
The stats won’t reflect it, but Norman had Beckham’s number almost all day got him flustered and frustrated, as numerous greats often do.
“You got two bulls going at it in a physical sport, a field full of alpha males, they’re not going to be playing patty-cake, patty-cake”, Newton added.
Norman said it the style of play was out of character for Beckham. “We had an opportunity to close a team out and we didn’t do it because we didn’t keep our focus and maintain our composure out there”.
Jesse Spector of Sporting News also passed along this interaction: “Beckham asked point-blank why he launched himself helmet-to-helmet”. “People who was in their living rooms they watched it. I’m sure they understand what type of player this guy is”.
NOTES: Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart, who entered Week 15 third in the National Football League in rushing with 989 yards, did not play.
Meanwhile, Newton was staying calm.
Tyrann Mathieu intercepted Bradford’s pass late in the fourth quarter and limped off the field.
Ted Ginn Jr. caught a 3-yarder to make it 7-0.
