Trump rejects Clinton’s ‘ISIS’ best recruiter’ claim
Those who stuck around pretty much had to score one more for Hillary Clinton, who cruised to another dominating performance as her party’s national frontrunner in this, the third and final debate of 2015, staged by the DNC and WMUR-TV in Manchester at St. Anselm’s College in Manchester, N.H.
While the Democrats united against Trump, Sanders clashed at length with Clinton over how to tackle extremism, opposing her call for a no-fly zone over Syria and for focusing on ousting that country’s President Bashar al-Assad.
In the debate in New Hampshire, which centred on national security, Mrs Clinton easily deflected attacks from Mr Sanders and Martin O’Malley, the former governor of Maryland. The Twittersphere, on both the right and the left, picked up on Clinton’s statement and questioned whether she had any evidence for it.
Their exchanges came in the first Democratic faceoff since a husband-and-wife team of killers inspired by the Islamic State shot 14 people to death in San Bernardino, Calif. Those shootings came soon after ISIS claimed responsibility for killing more than 100 people in Paris.
Leading Republican presidential aspirant Donald Trump today dismissed Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton’s assertion that the Islamic State was using his videos as a recruitment tool saying she is “a liar” and “made up” the claim. Yes, I apologize. Reporter: Bernie sanders apologizing for his campaign’s breach of Hillary Clinton’s private voter database. She called Trump a threat to the nation’s safety, saying he was fast “becoming IS’s best recruiter”.
“Now that, I think, you know, we’ve resolved your data, we’ve agreed on an independent inquiry, we should move on, because I don’t think the American people are all that interested in this”, the former secretary of state said.
While experts agree it’s entirely possible ISIS could be using Trump’s anti-Muslim comments to recruit potential militants, there is no evidence they actually are, reports the Business Standard. No, I think they won’t.
“They are going to people showing videos of Donald Trump insulting Islam and Muslims in order to recruit more radical jihadists”, she continued, though her contention hasn’t been backed up. She pointed out that as Secretary of State under President Obama, she advocated that the USA arm what it deemed the moderate opposition, “because I anxious we would end up exactly where we are now”, Clinton said. “It is not Assad who is attacking the United States – it is ISIS”.
“That is total overreaction”, Sanders said on ABC’s “This Week”.
“Now, this is getting to be fun”, said Sanders, after Clinton resisted efforts by the moderators to cut her off during a dispute over taxes.
Clinton, like many candidates on both sides, has a plan to defeat ISIS that mirrors much of what the Obama administration is already doing.
The country will rise to the challenge of the IS extremists, but only if Americans never surrender their values “to the fascist pleas of billionaires with big mouths”.
Clinton campaign spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri, interviewed later on ABC, said that her candidate was “not referring to a specific video”.
Everybody should. Will corporate America love a president sanders?
Clinton and Sanders, her closest challenger, entered the debate in the midst of one of their fiercest fights – about the campaign itself rather than a national or worldwide issue.
