Beckham at the double for Giants

Beckham had yet another monster game, hauling in seven catches for 166 yards and two touchdowns, including the 84-yarder.

Next week, NY must do everything they can to attack that vaunted Panthers defense.

Eli Manning went 27-for-31 racking up 337 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

Manning finished the game with a quarterback passer rating of 151.5, marking his best performance since the 2009 season. It’s now a three-way tie in the NFC East between the Washington Redskins, Philadelphia Eagles and the Giants. Corner Sam Madison, a member of the Giants’ Super Bowl XLII team, was honored as one of the 50 greatest Dolphins.

Miami topped 20 points for the first time since October but couldn’t keep up with Beckham and the Giants.

Odell Beckham Jr.’s friendly showdown with fellow wide receiver Jarvis Landry turned into a solo act on Monday as the New York Giants standout continues to steal the show from opponents. The odds are against them, and the team’s many holes defensively were on display frequently against the undertalented Dolphins.

Beckham missed one series when he went to the locker room due to cramps in both calves, but didn’t let that slow him down.

On their first score, the Dolphins took advantage of a blitz by Giants safety Craig Dahl. Cornerback Jamar Taylor and seldom-used safety Shamiel Gary were the closest defenders, but Manning hit Beckham in stride at midfield, and Beckham sprinted to the end zone for his 12th touchdown this season.

While the Vikings’ recent record in prime time games is problematic, this is a hump that this team is going to have to get over eventually…after all, there aren’t a lot of noon Central time kickoffs in the National Football League post-season.

Before I get into playoff scenarios and what we need moving forward I think we need to talk about the run game.

“We’re going to see who really loves the game”, Dolphins interim coach Dan Campbell said of his players. One of those scores came on a 38 yard scamper that was one of the best of his career.

Beckham’s final catch, a diving grab on third down at midfield, sealed the victory with less than two minutes left.

“We worked our (butts) off, and that’s something”, he said. “He’s just continuing to do what he does”.

Manning led a touchdown drive in the final 2 minutes of the first half covering 80 yards, including 45 on a long pass to Beckham, to make it 17-all. The receiver on the 5-yard pass for the tie: Will Tye. Downfield, Landry was wide open. “I tried to get the ball to him quickly, and didn’t make the throw”.

The not-so-great 2015 Dolphins were hurt by 12 penalties and seemed reluctant to run the ball, as has been the case most of the year.

Rookie LT Ereck Flowers re-injured his oft-injured ankle in the second half and was forced out in the fourth quarter.

Giants DT Markus Kuhn exited during the third quarter thanks to a knee injury and didn’t come back. DE George Selvie was evaluated for a concussion in the fourth quarter and didn’t return….

“There’s no doubt winning is the biggest factor and going on the field and doing it rather than taking about it”, Coughlin said Tuesday via conference call. “It snapped my neck”. If he can’t play, T.J. Yates will start…. Cameron indeed did fumble, but the ruling was that the Dolphins recovered and the Giants lost a timeout.

With Miami’s defeat, New England clinched the AFC East title.
