Knicks’ Derrick Williams robbed for more than $500k in jewelry
The Knicks handily beat the woeful Philadelphia 76ers 107-97 Friday, which really was no big deal-the 76ers are 1-27 after all.
Off the court, things were not as great for the Knicks, specifically forward Derrick Williams.
New York Knicks forward Derrick Williams was robbed $750,000 after taking two women home from a club in lower Manhattan on Saturday night.
Williams went to a place called the “Up & Down club”, afterward, they headed back to Williams’ Broadway apartment – along with two women whom they had just met and who may have been using false names, the sources said. The spokesperson also added that Williams contacted the police when he woke up later Saturday when he realized that his valuables had gone missing. The women pillaged a Louis Vuitton jewellery case holding a little fortune in basketballer bling, law-enforcement sources stated.
According to Williams, his jewelry, which was in a Louis Vuitton case, was robbed by two women Williams took home who he met in a club in the Meatpacking Distract. The Post report said police are studying the incident to see if it is linked to a series of similar cases in NY involving women preying on wealthy men with a taste for expensive jewelry.
Another Instagram pic, posted from Paris, shows Williams wearing a heavy gold chain with a large medallion bearing an image of the crucified head of Jesus Christ.
But when asked about the theft afterwards, he told reporters: ‘I don’t want to talk about it. It’s still up in the air’.
