Death in Erin being treated as homicide, says OPP
Wellington County OPP have identified the body of a man found in Erin earlier this week.
At about 7 a.m. on Thursday morning (Dec. 17), Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a sudden death after the dead body of a man was found near Wellington County Road 124 and 10th Line following a fire.
On December 19, 2015, a forensic post mortem was conducted in Toronto at the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Service.
The victim’s identity came known to police late last night.
Police are still working to notify next of kin before releasing the man’s identity.
Police also say the man isn’t a resident of southern Ontario.
According to police, their investigation so far has indicated that the victim travelled to the Erin, Ontario area on Wednesday, arriving either later in the day on Wednesday or in the early morning hours on Thursday.
“He is described as a while male, about 5′ 6” in height, with a heavier build. He has a grey, downward curving moustache and grey, over-the-collar length hair. He was wearing a dark-coloured hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
