Scott Weiland died from accidental overdose
The cause of death was confirmed Friday by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner in Minneapolis, where the rocker died.
The coroner lists “multi-substance dependence” as a factor in his death, while he also suffered from “significant” heart disease and asthma.
Weiland was found dead in the bedroom of his tour bus December 3 outside of the Country Inn & Suites near the Mall of America in Bloomington.

The toxicology report for the former Stone Temple Pilots singer revealed he had cocaine, MDMA and alcohol in his system at the time of his death.
After the band split up in 2003, Weiland went on to front supergroup Velvet Revolver alongside Slash, Matt Sorum and Duff McKagan of Guns N’ Roses and Dave Kushner of Wasted Youth.
He left behind his wife Jamie Wachtel and two kids Noah, 15, and Lucy, 13, who he had with his first wife Mary Forsberg Weiland. The group had been scheduled to play a show in Bloomington, Minnesota on December 3rd when Weiland was found unresponsive.
