Bush defends Trump against Clinton claim: Talk about chutzpah
Conservative talk radio show host Hugh Hewitt tore into Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton after she claimed during the debate Saturday night that ISIS was using video of Donald Trump to recruit, an allegation that fact-checkers say simply isn’t true.
“She lies like insane about everything”, Trump said.
He said: “You’re talking about people dying”. “That’s the interpretation we made”, Mr Podesta said on Meet the Press, adding: “I think it’s a very fair charge”. She said Clinton was “not referring to a specific video” but noted that Trump “is being used in social media by ISIS as propaganda”. Still, Clinton saved her hardest punch for Trump, the sole GOP candidate mentioned during the debate.
“I’ve been totally exonerated from that, I’ve had headlines exonerating me and saying ‘Trump was right, ‘” Trump said.
There was no evidence to back the claim, and a spokespersonn later said “she didn’t have a particular video in mind”.
Over the weekend, Trump fired back at Clinton after she said during the Democratic debate Saturday that Islamic extremists were using Trump’s comments about Muslims and Islam as a recruiting tool.
Clinton’s campaign also sent Business Insider a tweet from an alleged ISIS sympathizer’s account that commented on Trump’s refusal to rule out the potential creation of registry for Muslim-Americans.
Clinton’s campaign did not immediately respond to an additional request for comment on Monday. On Monday, Trump demanded an apology for what he called a “disgusting” claim.
