Singer Remo Fernandes booked for abusing minor
Panaji: Pop singer Remo Fernandes is in news but for all the bad reasons as he has been booked for threatening a minor girl at Goa Medical College, who had been hit by his son Jonah’s vehicle early this month and is now undergoing treatment.
Singer Remo Fernandes have been summoned by the Goa Police for abusing a minor, according to media reports.
The police had pasted the summons on the door of his home in Siolim after they did not find him there last night.
The fresh summons were issued after the “O Meri Munni” singer failed to present himself before the police on Monday, December 21. “His son has also been called for questioning”, Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi told PTI today. The statements of the girl, her elder sister and the staff members of the Goa Medical College and Hospital who were on duty the day of the alleged incident have already been recorded as per the police.
The police after recording the statement of the victim girl before child welfare NGO have registered an offence under Sec 8 of the Goa Childrens Act 2003 against Mr Fernandes.
Mr. Remo Fernandes allegedly verbally abused the 17-year-old girl from Maharashtra, after she was knocked down in north Goa on December 1 by a speeding vehicle driven by his son Jonah in which the singer was also travelling. We have registered a case under IPC Section 279 (rash driving) and Section 338 (causing grave injury, endangering life or personal safety of others) and will continue with the probe’.
