I’m exhausted of seeing Marcus Mariota get hit
Marcus Mariota suffered a knee injury during the loss at New England Sunday. New England held the Titans to just 58 net yards in the first half.
After all, there was little chance the Titans (3-11) would overtake the defending Super Bowl champions (12-2) even with Mariota.
Packers 30, Raiders 20: Aaron Rodgers threw a touchdown pass, and Damarious Randall returned an interception for another score for Green Bay. It was Brady’s 35th touchdown pass of season and fourth career season with that many, tying Peyton Manning for the National Football League record.
New England responded immediately, capitalizing on Keshawn Martin’s 75-yard kickoff return by scoring a touchdown two plays later. The big Patriots losses on Sunday were linebacker Dont’a Hightower (knee), receiver Danny Amendola (knee) and safety Patrick Chung (hip). Joseph Iosefa, a fullback signed off the practice squad Saturday, led the Patriots with 51 yards rushing. The three of them combined for 93 rushing yards and nine catches for 89 receiving yards and one touchdown.
James White took a screen pass 30 yards to the end zone for a 21-3 lead. Now he has been sacked another 19 times since he came back from that one.
The league tested the PSI of the New England Patriots and Tennessee Titans’ footballs before, at halftime and after the two teams’ Week 15 matchup, a league source told NFL Media’s Lisa Kraus Edwards.
“Just communication”, said running back Antonio Andrews. He also sacked Mariota in the second quarter and knocked the No. 2 overall draft pick from the game. The Titans responded early in the third with a seven yard touchdown pass from backup quarterback Zach Mettenberger to Delanie Walker, shrinking the lead to 24-10. He left the field favoring his knee, and went to the locker room to be evaluated by New England’s medical staff. Gostkowski missed just his second field goal attempt of the season and his first from inside of 50 yards…. The defense started the game by forcing two punts and then scored a touchdown. Punter Ryan Allen had four punts, but none of them were downed inside the Tennessee 20-yard line. It sounds ridiculous to anyone outside of New England, but it’s all relative: the Patriots beat a team they were supposed to beat, but it didn’t feel like they earned it. And that feeling stems mainly from the offense and special teams, not the defense.
There were top-named running backs, wide receivers and offensive linemen available during free agency, but this team ended up with four questionable wide-outs, and five tight ends.
For now, the Patriots will have to spend another week figuring out who will play next Sunday down in NY when they battle the Jets.
Sunday’s 33-16 win over the Tennessee Titans certainly wasn’t a bad game for the Patriots. He’s also particularly fond of lacrosse, IndyCar racing and women’s college basketball.
