Steve Harvey Apologizes For Miss Universe 2015 Mistake

Was it really a huge mistake of Mr. Harvey?

“Today, the whole country unites in celebration over Ms. Pia Wurtzbach’s coronation as Miss Universe in the 2015 pageant in Las Vegas, USA”, Lacierda said. Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez has responded to Harvey’s embarrassing gaffe with a lot of grace.

What followed after that was by far one of the most awkward moments in the pageant till date, as a beaming Ariadna Gutierrez was stripped of her blue diamond and topaz crown, just minutes after her coronation.

“Okay, folks”, he said.

Miss Philippines moved down stage and stood beside Miss Columbia, still wearing the crown.

“The entire country, and our family, was overcome with emotion”, Alvaro Arevalo, the Colombian runner-up’s cousin, told Blu Radio in an interview Monday.

Harvey said that Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, had won the Miss Universe contest, when it was Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, who had actually won.

When it came to Harvey’s uncharacteristically amateurish goof, there was even room for a conspiracy theory.

Harvey admitted on stage that he read the card wrong, although a Snapchat capture (below) shows him blaming the teleprompter for giving him the wrong information. It was on the card.

“Please don’t hold it against the ladies, please don’t”. He then tweeted the apology again with the correct spelling.

Miss Universe judge and celebrity blogger Perez Hilton gets more cheers than a beauty queen wearing a bikini telling viewers watching the event at home that “thankfully Donald Trump no longer owns this pageant”.
