Rummenigge knew that Guardiola would leave
Bayern Munich have confirmed that Italian Carlo Ancelotti will be their head coach from the next season for three years after Pep Guardiola on Sunday decided not to renew his contract with the record German football champions.
“We are thankful to Guardiola for all he gave our club and hope to celebrate more success in the current season”.
He has maintained their domestic dominance with back-to-back league titles and a German Cup in his first two seasons in charge, while also overhauling the playing squad.
Having previously managed Juventus, AC Milan, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, too, in addition to three Champions League titles, it’s safe to say Bayern fans have no reason to worry that their place at European football’s top table isn’t under threat, under their hugely experienced new boss.
Pep Guardiola has already chosen his next club after telling Bayern Munich of his decision to leave at their Christmas party, according to chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
“I do not know whether he will renew in the end, but if he doesn’t then it does not matter”.
“As a player I don’t care how long the contract of a coach is, and if he renews it or not”.
Ancelotti’s last team was Real Madrid, which he coached from mid-2013 to the end of last season.

Sacchi feels his compatriot and Jose Mourinho, who parted company with Chelsea last week, were the only suitable candidates to replace the Spaniard and is in no doubt Ancelotti will make his mark at the Allianz Arena. “Carlo Ancelotti has enjoyed success everywhere as a coach and has won the Champions League three times. That is what we were looking for and that is what we found”.
Manchester City are known to be keen admirers of Suarez’s abilities and are hopeful that the arrival of Guardiola will help them tempt the 28-year old to the Etihad Stadium next summer.
Pep Guardiola will work in England. He is the only coach that reaped the Champions League trophy three times and reached the finals four times.
He is said to have recommended Pellegrini to club owner Roman Abramovich before Mourinho returned in 2013, and he has again tipped the Chilean for the job with financial terms and a pre-contract deal said to have been discussed with Pellegrini’s representatives.
