Corridor Digital uses Microsoft Surface Book to create visual storyboards

People across the globe were waiting for Microsoft’s this laptop’s release as it is famously compared with Apple’s MacBook Pro laptop. The Surface Book, however, changed that earlier in the year.

A full-size USB port makes the Surface Pro 4 more versatile, with capabilities of a full-on desktop machine.

If you are looking at basic version, Microsoft Surface Pro 4 tagged with $899 and the Apple iPad Pro at $799. The device, featuring a display with 264 pixels per inch (ppi), is largely aimed at business users.

We’re by no means disappointed with the longevity the Surface 3’s battery packs, it just feels distinctly average for its size, falling behind the gold standard in tablets – the svelte iPad Air 2 (which usually hits around 9/10 hours of use per charge). In terms of features, though, it also stands out for its extra-strong hinge, which seeks to solve the conundrum of how to prevent the display from tipping over, considering most of its internals are found in there. That improves on a hallmark of the Surface tablet line, but can your Surface Book realty replace your laptop?

Microsoft’s Surface Book weighs around 3.34 pounds; while the MacBook Pro is slightly heavier with 3.48 pounds.

So there you have it – the Surface Book was indeed one of 2015’s more memorable new releases, despite its imperfections.

The tablet portion of the Surface Book is large thanks to the 13.5-inch screen, which makes it pretty hard to use without holding it in two hands. The rear camera is a not-completely-terrible 8.0-megapixel sensor, while the front camera is equipped with a depth sensor for Windows Hello.

The other big component of any Surface experience is stylus input and the Surface 3 supports both the Surface Pen 3 and Surface Pen 4, although unlike the Pro 4’s magnetic storage system, you’ll still need to attach the pen loop to the Type cover or keep it tucked away in a pocket when it isn’t required. During his keynote speech at Microsoft Future Unleashed event in Mumbai, CEO Nadella recently announced the availability of this much-awaited device.
