Instagram launches its first tool for web search – Explore features
Discovery has never been Instagram‘s strong suit, but these changes went a long way toward fixing that.
With the new website search feature that’s rolling out today, it’s possible to search for hashtags, locations, and user accounts directly from a web browser. What’s more, landing pages for Geo-tags and hashtags are now available and – my personal favorite – searching for a particular location, will bounce you to the top image results for that place.
Greg Finn is the Director of Marketing for Cypress North, a company that provides world-class social media and search marketing services and web & application development. Just last week, Instagram hired former Lucky magazine editor Eva Chen to strengthen its ties with the fashion industry and attract more high-quality content that brands can advertise against. Through the years, they have made many intricate changes to the service. The much overlooked feature of Instagram finally got its upgrade and won’t disrupt the grid-like photo structure users are accustomed to. However, the new update would give a reason to some users to access Instagram from their desktops. To keep its growing cadre of users engaged, Instagram has been adding regular updates over the past several months. It only stands to reason, considering their popularity and vast development opportunities with Facebook as its owner. It’s simple, creative and promotes interaction above all.
