Mild temps and sunny for Christmas
Keep in mind, our average high for this time of the year is 40°. Although rain chances lessen as we head into Christmas and the weekend, isolated showers could still develop.
And some parts could be seeing record-breaking temperatures for Christmas. The chance for rain will continue Thursday night and linger into Christmas Day.
“We might hit our high temperature in London area and Southwestern Ontario overnight Wednesday into Thursday”, said Environment Canada Severe Weather Meteorologist Desjanelle Matthews.
Christmas Day will be mild with highs around 50 and a chance for afternoon and evening rain. Friday night will be breezy, partly cloudy, with a low around 41 degrees.
Saturday: Showers likely. Cloudy with a high near 56. The result will be a widespread moderate rain Tuesday morning. West wind 5 to 7 miles per hour becoming southeast after midnight. Up to three-quarters of an inch of rain is possible. Rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible. High 60. MONDAY: Mostly cloudy with some drizzle. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Clouds will increase on Sunday as some moisture builds in. It seemed even colder as brisk winds dropped the windchill down to the low 30s during the day.
If any of the active weather systems mentioned above move a little further south than there is a chance that more snow than rain enters the forecast. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Scattered showers may produce locally heavy both days.
Winter officially arrives late Monday night, but it looks like Mother Nature forgot to set her alarm.
