Kapil Sharma’s ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ To End In January?
The TV star that rose to fame with his reality show “Comedy Nights with Kapil” had a major tiff with the channel heads as he accused them of giving more attention to the other show of the same nature, “Comedy Nights Bachao”.
The show became India’s highest rated scripted TV show.
Kapil Sharma is not ending his show.
Reports now suggest that Comedy Nights With Kapil which is the highlight of the channel Colors might soon move on to a rival channel.
If reports are to be believed, it was Kapil who decide to end the show as they were not happy with the stepmotherly treatment by Colors channel. “When the show ends on January 17 we’ll take a break of three months and then return”.
Comedy Nights with Kapil has been one of the most popular and TRP-earning shows for the past three years.
A source associated with the Kapil’s show was quoted by a leading daily as saying, “We were told that the new show will be called Roast”.

“It also looked like a clone as whatever happened in Kapil’s show was replicated on Bachao”.
In each show, a celebrity comes as guest and the anchor Kapil starts a amusing chat with them. “There should be a demarcation between two shows airing on the same channel”, the source added. “Every channel wants hit shows, but not at the cost of sabotaging an established one”. They told us that their comedy slot is working in the weekend, which doesn’t seem true as their previous comedy ex periments failed miserably. All the characters of the show will undergo a makeover and they will return with a new avatar. It’s perfectly fine to launch new shows, but no two programmes should have similar content and celebrities.
