Djokovic and Williams named in men’s and women’s world champions
Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic were named the women’s and men’s players of the year by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) on Tuesday, December 22.
He managed a career-best 11 titles and finished with an 82-6 record.
Serb Djokovic won in Melbourne, London and NY, while losing to Stan Wawrinka in the French Open final. She ended the year with a 53-3 win-loss record, AP news agency said.
For Djokovic, it was his fifth triumph in a row, while Williams has been crowned for a fourth straight year – and sixth time in all.
Hingis thus became an ITF world champion again 15 years after being crowned singles champion.

After winning Wimbledon in July she also held all 4 Grand Slam titles at the same time for the second time in her career, which she previously dubbed a “Serena Slam” in contrast to a calendar Grand Slam.

Djokovic beat Federer in the men’s final of the Grand Slam in NY in four sets, 6-4 5-7 6-4 6-4 and apparently Federer’s “sneak attack” did not work fully at that time.
