Expletive-Happy Diaz Leads Call-Outs For Conor McGregor At UFC Fight Night
McGregor was nowhere near the Amway Centre in Orlando, Florida this past weekend, but was still the talk of the town.
Nate Diaz, Rafael dos Anjos and Charles Oliveira all called featherweight champion Conor McGregor out after their wins on Saturday at UFC on Fox 17. He started out with a warning, saying, “Conor McGregor has been saying that he wants to come to my division”.
“I’d love to fight McGregor at Madison Square Garden (which the UFC has reserved, pending a court battle)”.
After calling him a “motherf***er”, he said: “You know what’s the real money fight, and it’s me”.
Dos Anjos wasn’t the only fighter with McGregor’s name on the tip of his tongue, though.
“The Notorious” can expect to increase his earnings significantly over the next 12 months following his latest stunning success in Las Vegas where he defeated Jose Aldo.
You can check out McGregor’s tweet below. “I’m going to fight your f***ing a**!”
At the post-fight press conference, Diaz added that if McGregor wants a big money fight, the Irishman should look no further than Stockton’s own. Not these clowns that you already punked at the press conference.
“Don’t no one want to see that”. And you know even they must have considered it. It’s an easy fight. You want that real s***?
McGregor has options. He could take a rematch with Aldo, or defend his featherweight crown against Edgar.
The last post took direct aim at his future potential opponents.
The difference was, dos Anjos seemed more resigned to the possibility than eager for it. He treated the idea of fighting McGregor the way you’d treat someone who wanted to trade you their vehicle for your skateboard.
McGregor’s celebrity has grown past every UFC fighter except Ronda Rousey, largely because he has recorded devastating stoppage victories in five straight fights and six of his seven UFC bouts. “But I have to fight this fight and we’ll see what happens afterwards”. Since I moved to California [to Kings MMA], it’s been four years now. However, if McGregor still decides to make the weight jump, he’ll be waiting on him. When I fought dos Anjos, it was hard to get up and train for that fight. If by then Dos Anjos still wears lightweight gold-and there’s no reason to doubt he will, given his stout recent performances-then it will be time for the two champions to meet.
