Don’t threaten us by filing a case, Kejriwal tells Jaitley
The Delhi HC on Tuesday issued notices to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders in a civil defamation suit filed by Arun Jaitley for their allegations against him in the DDCA issue.
A Delhi court on the same day admitted the criminal defamation suit filed by Jaitley against Kejriwal and other AAP leaders for accusing him for alleged irregularities in the DDCA.
Notably, the hacked tweet comes amidst an uproar between Jaitley and Azad who has been alleging main monetary bungling within the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) for years.
In a strong show of support for Jaitley, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said at BJP parliamentary party meet that he will come through “with flying colours” against charges of corruption levelled against him by the opposition in a same way Advani did in the Hawala case.
Kejriwal had alleged that the CBI raid was conducted to take possession of the DDCA files which were kept in his office.
“Jaitley has not drawn a single penny from the DDCA”.
Deputy Chairman PJ Kurien said there is a procedure for levelling allegations against a member of the House or a minister and a prior notice to the concerned has to be given. What a shame that baseless allegations are being thrown at him! Kejriwal responded by tweeting that Jaitley should not attempt to scare AAP leaders and should instead cooperate with an inquiry into DDCA affairs announced by the Delhi government.
Meanwhile, AAP leader Sanjay Singh said the party will expose this scam.
Minister Of State for Information & Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore told reporters:”The civil defamation suit has been filed as steps were taken to damage Mr. Jaitley’s reputation. It is not acceptable”.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress Party has demanded for the resignation of the Finance Minister from the union cabinet to enable an independent probe against him.
By filing defamation case, Kejriwal said, “Jaitley is trying to hurt himself”.
Congress’s KC Venugopal, who raised the issue, claimed that there were “gross irregularities” in DDCA when Jaitley headed it and alleged his involvement and said Azad’s press conference gave “solid evidence of irregularities” in DDCA.
“During the drive, the extreme left lane on the road is proposed to be reserved for public transport buses and motorists who do not follow lane driving instructions will be issued a penalty slip for Rs 2,000”, said an official.
