The 10 Most Popular Apps of 2015
According to Nielsen’s annual study of the top trends in digital content, Facebook is the smartphone app to beat. Messenger had the highest year-over-year change, with a whopping 31 percent increase in users from 2014. I’m pretty sure Nielsen’s numbers also include people who are using the app to play music they already own.
The subscription to the service is 9,99 $ a month, a low price to pay in order to be able to listen to as much music as you want, on what device you prefer. Gmail app, a free advertising-supported e-mail service provided by Google to smartphone users, lured an average of 75.105 million unique visitors per month.
Facebook hs continued to hold on to its leadership position as the top app installed on U.S. smartphones on the basis of the average number of unique users, according to a new report this week from Nielsen. Also, other than Apple Music, most of the top-used apps have been around for years.
Facebook was again the top smartphone app in 2015 in the United States, with the number of monthly average users rising 8 percent from the year before to126. This is particularly important for Facebook as the company continues to push the app as a one-stop-shop for your travel and shopping needs in addition to functioning as a communications tool.
Reported by the Wall Street Journal, Google is working on a brand new messaging service, one to rival Facebook Messenger, Skype, and WhatsApp. The results indicate that Google and Facebook dominate the mobile app space.
Its mobile messaging application was the fastest-growing app of 2015.
Nielsen notes that Alphabet’s Android remains the most popular mobile operating system in the USA with 52.6% of the market compared with Apple’s iOS with 42.7% of the market. It saw the second-greatest growth of any app, with a jump of 26%. YouTube experienced year-over-year growth of 5%.
