Jaitley will ‘come out with flying colours’ : PM
Amid protests by Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta, Sisodia, flanked by Kejriwal, moved a resolution on the floor of the Assembly to constitute a Commission of Inquiry to probe the alleged corruption in DDCA.
Jaitley has also filed a criminal defamation complaint in a Patiala House court, saying the statements of these leaders would cause “irreversible damage” to his reputation.
Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice as the Congress continued to protest, demanding Jaitley’s resignation. “I was visited at home by so many agencies to take precaution against threat to my life”, said the tweet. Has the party forgotten that its leaders, Sonia and Rahul Gandhi, got bail in the National Herald case by paying Rs.50,000 and asked to appear in the court for the next hearing?
If Jaitley was indeed innocent, he should prove this to the Commission of Inquiry set up by the Delhi government, he said. The Congress government that ran Delhi for 15 years before it was dethroned by AAP was, in its later years, also plagued by corruption allegations – not just regarding politicians like Kalmadi, but bureaucrats as well.
“If the raid was for my Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar, what was the need to come to my office”, the Delhi Chief Minister sought to know from Prime Minister Modi and the Central Bureau of Investigation.
Azad, a Lok Sabha member from Bihar, on Sunday alleged massive corruption in the DDCA. “I am fighting against corruption and my fight is not against any individual or any party”, he told IANS.
The Congress demanded on Tuesday that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley should resign over alleged irregularities in DDCA as BJP leader L.K. Advani had done in the wake of hawala allegations. That officer told me that there was a meeting of DDCA officials, where Jaitley had told them no not worry about SFIO as he will get it compounded.
Mr Jethmalani said he doesn’t hide the fact that he dislikes Arun Jaitley. So, we meant to create two small blocks of ground floor and first floor; but by that time BCCI started earning money and said they could give infrastructure subsidy up to Rs. 50 crore.
“The debate in the Assembly indicting a Union minister is absolutely unconstitutional and reflects the larger system of his unsafe and anarchic temperament”, the BJP leader said while hitting out at Kejriwal.
Kirti Azad had even written letter to the SHO, IP Estate, alleging that rules were flouted during Arun Jaitley’s tenure as DDCA president.
