Wyoming jobless rate up slightly
The November jobless rate was up from 4.4 percent in October, when OH employers added 30,800 jobs – the third-highest total in the U.S. Despite a slight bump in the rate, OH unemployment is still at its lowest level since 2001 and down from 5.2 percent a year ago, the jobs figures show.
Unemployment on the Mississippi Gulf Coast is holding steady, with all three Coast counties posting rates of under 7 percent in November.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose from 4 percent in October to 4.1 percent in November.
Vermont’s unemployment rate stayed at 3.7 percent in November, according to the state’s Department of Labor, showing no change from the October and September unemployment rates.
California’s unemployment rate fell to 5.7 percent in November, according to data released this week by the California Employment Development Department (EDD). 1 percent, but it represented a 1.5 percent drop from November 2014. Marin County had the second lowest at 3.3 percent and San Francisco had the third lowest at 3.4 percent. Losses were concentrated in construction, government, and leisure and hospitality.
The unemployment rate in the Rochester area continues to fall. The labor force participation rate was 62.4 percent.
The seven-county region and the St. Cloud MSA continue to remain below the national jobless rate of 4.8 percent.
Nonfarm payroll jobs increased by 5,500 last month compared to October, department officials said.
The civilian labor force declined by 1,100 workers from month-to-month to 344,100.
Palmer: 5.8 percent in November, 5.7 percent in October and 6.5 percent a year ago.
The rate in 2006 was 4.1 and it was 4.7 in 2007.
In Michigan City the rate rose to 6.6 percent, from 6.2 percent in October (8.1 percent in November 2014).
