Kobe Bryant’s list of toughest players he’s faced is interesting
“Obviously the game got out of hand real early, and I just thought (the Thunder) were just in attack mode from the starting buzzer to the end”. I don’t see that changing much at all. I wish I could. The body won’t let me.
Bryant echoed the same sentiment when asked about playing in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Olajwon’s selection is interesting as he played center, while Bryant has spent most of his career at the shooting guard position. Olympic team in 2008 and 2012.
“I only can speak for myself”. It was as lopsided as it gets from start to finish.
“My body has been through a lot, physically, its been through a lot, and then on top of the fact that it is very easy to forget that I haven’t played because of it”, he said.
In Bryant’s absence, the Lakers offered little resistance to a mighty Oklahoma side, for whom Kevin Durant led scoring with 22 points and Enes Kanter contributed 19 points and 14 rebounds. LeBron and KD are two of this generation’s best players so Kobe listing both isn’t surprising either.
Thanks to Bryant, the Lakers remain one of the world’s most popular sports franchises, despite their current struggles. At some point, you have to be OK with letting that go. At some point, you have to be okay with letting that go and you have to be okay with passing the game along and do all you can to help the game continue to grow and continue to evolve. Bryant is putting up 18.8 points per game with 5.5 rebounds and four assists per 29.3 minutes in his past six contests.
Bryant also spoke about another young Australian, 20-year-old Utah Jazz guard Dante Exum, who tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee playing for the Australian team in Europe in August.
Yet, Bryant said he has a “really good relationship” with the so-called “basketball gods”. “It just looked like we were in awe of that team”. “I tried to think about that and stay conscious on how I can mentally be better”. “I told them at halftime, ‘You look scared”. Bryant wagged his tongue shortly after the play.
“I think it was kind of logical to expect it to be sore at some point”, Bryant said. “Detroit Pistons [in] 2004 were tough”, continued Bryant, talking about two teams who defeated his Lakers in finals series during the aforementioned years.
The Lakers are paying Bryant $25 million this season and somehow squeezing revenue from it while following up last season’s heinous 21-61 record with an even worse 4-22 start.
“It was a matter of my legs catching up and a matter of my timing catching up, too. You can get excited about that”, said George Belch, chairman of the San Diego State University marketing department.
