Quentin Tarantino honoured with Hollywood Walk Of Fame star

Spending the past few years making a revisionist WWII picture, and a couple of vengeance westerns, it’s easy to forget that there is a significant portion of Quentin Tarantino‘s DNA that runs fairly geeky. Needless to say, it’s pretty great, and for various reasons needs to be seen on the biggest, widest screen possible.

The Weinstein Company and director Quentin Tarantino give movie fans another taste of ‘The Hateful Eight, ‘ which opens nationwide on January 8, following a special 70mm release on Christmas Day.

As with his last film, Django Unchained, the bombastic Tarantino still has no qualms about wading into issues of race in America, a topic that remains as polarizing as they come.

Now, just days away from the theatrical release of the movie, Tarantino discussed backlash to his controversial comments and the damage it might do to his film’s awards campaign and box office success. The implications and consequences are far trickier and more complicated than they might appear at first glance, however much fun violent movies like Tarantino’s undeniably can be.

The film tells the story of bounty hunter John Ruth (1, Kurt Russell) as he transports the wanted murderer Daisy Domergue (2, Jennifer Jason Leigh) to Red Rock to be hanged. “And we stayed in that line, and at one point of that line, I stood right there”, he said, pointing to his star.

Jackson praised Tarantino for his work. In 2013, he won again for writing Django Unchained. I just wasn’t as involved and invested as Quentin Tarantino. As noted by Variety, the action-heavy pictures all attracted a massive number of users, with The Hateful Eight logging downloads from 739,580 unique IP addresses within a 24-hour period, The Revenant logging 569,153 addresses, and Creed landing just shy of a half-million with 499,082.

The Blood Keeps Flowing: A little over twenty years later, Tarantino’s directorial debut is still as bloody as ever, and the blood hasn’t stopped flowing since the seminal American auteur first shot American audiences through the heart with his distinctive authorial vision.
