Donald Trump demands apology from Hillary Clinton over ISIS claim
Republican presidential candidate, businessman Donald Trump addresses supporters at a campaign rally, Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, in Grand Rapids, Mich.
The focus of the 2016 race may have shifted to the escalating crossfire between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, but Chris Christie is determined to talk about “things people really care about”. “I don’t know who would be worse, I don’t know, how could it be worse?” How does it get worse?
Moments earlier, he said Hillary Clinton “got schlonged” by Barack Obama in the 2008 election.
This kind of language is derogatory and sexist, sure, but it’s also just so freaky.
“We shouldn’t let anybody bully his way into the presidency, because that is not who we are as Americans”, Clinton told a crowd at a school in Keota, Iowa.
There is a near unanimity that Donald Trump is crossing every sense of decency while attacking Hillary Clinton. In 2011, he said Jane Corwin, a Republican who ran unsuccessfully for state office in NY, “got schlonged by a Democrat”.
“What happened to her?”
Clinton also took on Trump with a startling accusation – one that hasn’t been proven – during Saturday’s Democratic debate, saying of Trump’s proposal to ban all Muslims from entering the United States: “He is becoming ISIS’s best recruiter”. “I thought she quit, I thought she gave up”, Trump joked. “She should apologize”, Trump said on NBC News.
CNN’s Chris Cuomo offered a similar assessment Monday morning: “For Donald Trump to say, ‘I demand an apology, ‘ do you think that he has enough credibility with the public when it comes to veracity for him to ask for an apology for something like this?” Dont say it, its disgusting. This isnt the first time Trump has used what could be interpreted as gendered language to criticize Clinton. “They need to stop being so self-consumed and start talking about what people really want to hear, which is how we are going to keep the homeland safe and protected”.
If not, what is he implying?
His blunt style and comments about Hispanics, women, Muslims and his rivals for the nomination have set much of the tone for the Republican race. But he seems particularly hung up on-and outraged by-the basic physiological functions of the female human body.
Among 18- to 34-year-old voters, 73% said they would be “embarrassed” by Trump being president compared with 13% who said they would be “proud”.
But then! It was as if he saw me crying in a heap on my kitchen floor and stroked my face and said, “Get up, you’re being disgusting”.
