City Preparing For Christmas Cleanup
The city says to participate in the program, all residents will have to do is place their discarded trees on the curb.
The holidays are here, and as soon Santa and his reindeer have come and gone, and kids have opened their presents, families will be wondering what to do with their trees as they begin to prepare for the new year. The service is available on December 26th and 27th and January 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th and offered in zip codes 68502 through 68508, 68510, 68512, 68516, 68521, 68522 and 68526.
All trees should be placed on the parkway, in between the street and the sidewalk.
Only those trees taken to the park will be recycled, and those left curbside for removal won’t be. Pickup has been changed from a quadrant schedule to a citywide pickup schedule.
Residents also can check with their refuse haulers to see if they offer a tree collection day.
Hofeling Enterprises, 2200 South Folsom Court, will again donate grinding services.
Many items can be deposited with the majority accepting cans, cardboard, garden waste (including real Christmas trees), glass jars and bottles, paper, scrap metal, textiles, toys and white goods.
