Stores Open on Christmas Day 2015

Arenas close at 2pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, and all arenas (including Lanspeary outdoor rink) are closed on both Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Struggling high street retailers are hoping they can lure shoppers back for a last day of festive spending today with unprecedented discounting ahead of the traditional post-Christmas sales.

But VoucherCodes.co.uk and the Centre for Retail Research predict 22 million shoppers will spent a total of £3.74 billion on Boxing Day – up six per cent on a year ago.

By the time this paper hits your doorstep, you’ll have less than 72 hours to finish up Christmas shopping.

It is not. Christmas Day is a bank holiday. Babies “R’ Us, too, is open until 8 p.m. for the smallest ones on your Christmas list”.

Boxing Day and New Years’ Day will include special services on some routes including the Oxford Tube, and December 27 and December 28 will follow the usual Sunday service. While, Target and Macy’s will allow consumers to shop until 5 or 6 p.m.

As stores slash prices on their best sellers, Christmas goods, and old stock, items in the clearance bin are expected to drop even further – especially laptops. All will be closed on Christmas Day; all but the National Gallery will open on New Year’s Day.

41% of respondents said it was easier to shop online to get Boxing Day deals than go in store, and 66% of New Zealanders regularly shop online.

Ottawa City Hall, seven client service centres and provincial offence courts are closed on Christmas Day.

The 311 Call Centre will have reduced hours from 7:00am to 4:30pm on Thursday, December 24th and Thursday, December 31.

City, Borough and Acess Montreal offices will close from December 24 through January 4 inclusive, as are services at Montreal Municipal Court.

Kmart: Most Kmart stores are open until 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Most Topshop stores will open at 8am on Boxing Day.

Kohl’s will remain open for a staggering amount of 170 hours these days, finally taking a break on December 24, starting from 6 p.m. Items bought online will arrive by Christmas, provided that 1-day delivery is selected, and that the order is sent by 1 p.m. CT.
