After criticism, Hillary Clinton shifts language on Donald Trump and ISIS
Donald Trump’s comments about Hillary Clinton’s Democratic primary loss in 2008 to Barack Obama, who went on to become the United States president, were made at a campaign rally in the state of MI. “Schlonged” is not vulgar.
“Schlong” is common Yiddish slang for male genitals, as Reuters has pointed out.
Mr Trump also mocked the Democratic frontrunner for returning late to Saturday’s debate following a commercial break because she had been using the bathroom.
He later seemed to acknowledge reports that she got delayed waiting to use a restroom: “I know where she went”. It’s disgusting, I don’t want to talk about it. No, it’s too disgusting! “And, that’s why it’s important to stand up to bullies wherever they are and why we shouldn’t let anybody bully his way to the Presidency”, Clinton told the crowd of 700. “I mean really this country can do a lot better than both of them”, Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard, said Wednesday on “The Steve Malzberg Show”. “I’m old enough in that it doesn’t particularly annoy me yet I can’t imagine what it’s like to be, you know, a young human being in today’s world where that’s coming at you all the time”.
DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz hit back, saying that “the Sanders campaign doesn’t have anything other than bluster at the moment that they can put out there”.
Republican presidential candidate former Gov. Jeb Bush also addressed the comments – but said Clinton was going to “love” the attention she would get in the aftermath.
Brock, who heads the pro-Hillary super PAC Correct the Record, was reacting to Trump’s recent take on the 2008 presidential election that saw early favorite Hillary Clinton fall to then-Sen.
After Trump’s comments went viral on news and social media sites, Clinton spokeswoman Jennifer Palmieri tweeted yesterday: “We are not responding to Trump but everyone who understands the humiliation this degrading language inflicts on all women should”.
This isn’t the first time Trump has attacked Clinton using phrases that some of her supporters have labelled as sexist. “When he says, ‘No Muslims should be allowed in America, ‘ they tell people, ‘We told you America hates Muslims and here is proof'”. “But I thought that, wasn’t that a weird deal”. And if that happens, it will be through the suggestions and ideas of Mrs. Clinton and not anything Mr. Trump said or did. Clinton claimed the Islamic State group had used videos of Trump’s comments about Muslims to recruit militants. “If we win in Iowa, if we win in New Hampshire, I think we’ve got a real path toward victory”.
There was no evidence to back the claim, and a spokeswoman later said, “She didn’t have a particular video in mind”.
