No practice for Peterson; he’s confident he’ll play Sunday
Meanwhile, Peterson missed Wednesday’s practice and was on the injury report with ankle and shoulder issues that aren’t believed to be serious.
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson says he’s confident he’ll play this weekend against the New York Giants despite a sprained left ankle that forced him out for part of the last game. “Outside of Eli Manning, (Beckham’s) their best player”, said Minnesota’s Adrian Peterson, who told reporters that he texted his support for the wideout and didn’t think his actions warranted a suspension.
Sunday night’s game marks the first time the Vikings and Giants will meet on NBC Sports’ “Sunday Night Football”. Eli Manning completed 29 of 46 passes for 245 yards and four touchdowns against one interception. This was the seventh time in nine seasons that Peterson was picked, tying him for the fourth-most selections in Vikings history.
“I’m over the Pro Bowl”, defensive end Brian Robison huffed Wednesday.
There are four other Minnesota Vikings players who should have been included in the Pro Bowl.
“It feels good to get back to get back to work after Sunday’s performance”, Bridgewater said Wednesday. It’s just one of those things where you see some guys that make it and they absolutely deserve it, and you see some guys who don’t make it and you wonder how the heck they didn’t make it. It is what it is. If the Giants are without their star receiver, it certainly improves the Vikings chances of getting a win in their last regular season home game of the year.
“I expect greatness from myself”, Peterson said. Defensive tackle Linval Joseph, linebacker Anthony Barr, safety Harrison Smith, and center Joe Berger are all having incredible seasons and will likely find themselves as members of the All-Pro team when that roster is revealed, but missed out on the Pro Bowl. We’re in the same boat now.
“There’s really no holidays in the National Football League”, he said.
“I owe some people an apology. The guys understand the situation, they’ve embraced the challenge from coach (Mike) Zimmer, and we know how important these next two games are”.
Zimmer then offered what he called his gift to the media.
“We just have to continue to execute with the same intensity and have the same mindset going into this game”, Bridgewater said.
