Miss Universe boss wants Steve Harvey back for 2016 despite gaffe

The Miss Universe 2015 competition ended in embarrassment as millions of viewers across the world, as well as thousands inside the arena, watched as the host announced the wrong victor. “The destiny of every person on this planet is already written, and mine is this”.

Arevalo responded Tuesday on Instagram to Harvey’s colossal mistake, saying it was her “destiny”.

But the mistake still left a great amount of emotional pain for mistakenly crowned Miss Colombia who posted a touching message on her Instagram page thanking her supporters and later retreated to Miami to spend a few days relaxing with her family before returning to Colombia where she later plans to address the media concerning the incident.

President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos said that Gutierrez is “still Miss Universe” in his eyes, adding “They put the crown on her head”.

“I was able to bring happiness to my country after becoming Miss Universe for only a couple of minutes”, Gutierrez said. Today because of that Colombia and the Latin community are being talked about in every corner of the world.

True to that spirit, Gutierrez congratulated Wurtzbach and the Philippines in her post. “I feel awful”, he wrote.

“Life continues and in the future we will find out why things happen the way they happen”, she mused.

Later, the 58-year-old American comedian apologised to both the women, writing: ‘I’d like to apologise wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake.
