Impressive Pricing For Half-Ton Truck — Nissan Titan XD
The XD is the first of a new generation of Nissan full-size pickup trucks to be launched. We don’t yet know pricing for the 5.6-liter gasoline V-8 that will join the Titan XD lineup later next year, and we haven’t heard any details yet about the standard range of light-duty Titan models. In that sense, the least-expensive Titan XD diesel’s $2560 premium over the Ram 1500 Tradesman crew-cab diesel doesn’t seem so high.
Regardless of the version, all Titan XD comes with a 5-litre Cummins engine developing 310 horsepower and 555 pound-feet of torque.
With the Crew Cab confinguration, the Titan XD starts at $52,400 for the base S model and maxes out at $73,900 for the top-of-the-line Platinum Reserve. The entry-level price is tied to the “S” trim in a 4×2 Crew Cab configuration.
Rising through SV, SL, PRO-4X, and Platinum trim levels, the Titan XD tops out in now available trim levels at $61,715, where lavish equipment includes blind-spot monitors, leather seating, satellite radio, navigation, and open-pore wood trim. A rear DVD entertainment package, available on the top Platinum Reserve, adds an extra $2,190.
In our review, we said “By heavy-duty standards, the truck steers and handles nicely”.
Over the same timespan, Ford sold 695,143 F-series pickups, up 2.3 percent, and Chevrolet sold 537,552 Silverado pickups, up 14 percent. Assembly takes place at Nissan’s plant in Canton, Miss. The Murano entered its third generation for the 2015 model year, and the 2016 version is available at dealerships now.
