Afghan minister: Troops rushed to area under Taliban attack

Police Commissioner William Bratton said on Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, that Lemm is one of six American troops killed in a suicide attack near Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan.

The first Air National Guard Airman to die in combat was Staff Sgt. Todd Lobraico, Jr., who was killed while operating in the vicinity of Bagram Air Base on September 3, 2013.

He said they learned his actual location when military officials notified them he’d been killed.

Bonacasa, 30, of enlisted in the active Air Force in 2002 and transitioned to the New York Air National Guard’s 106th Security forces Squadron at F.S. Gabreski Air National Guard Base in Westhampton Beach, NY in 2008.

“An hour later we recaptured that building and now we have it”, he told The Associated Press. He says, “Whatever goal she had, she found a way”.
