Teresa Giudice, ‘Real Housewives Of New Jersey’ Star, Released From Prison
A source revealed to People that she gave herself a bathroom makeover before facing the cameras outside the prison building and heading home to New Jersey.
Reality television star Teresa Giudice was released from prison Wednesday after serving a year for bankruptcy fraud and conspiracy, and will head home to spend Christmas with her family in New Jersey, her lawyer says.
Correction: Dec. 23, 2015 A previous version of this article stated Teresa Giudice pled guilty to bank and wire fraud.
Giudice’s home confinement will end February 5, which will be followed by two years of supervised release, which comes with its own set of conditions and limitations.
Husband Joe was also convicted of fraud and is scheduled to serve 41 months in prison in March.
PEOPLE also learned that she took some extra time primping (about a half hour’s worth!) in the prison’s public bathroom before leaving this morning. She entered a minimum-security prison on January 5. It’s definitely been a long year for the Giudice’s and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate her coming home than with lots of quality family time throughout the holidays. She’ll wear an electronic monitoring bracelet until then, according to Bravo.
If they did have school today, one can imagine they stayed home to welcome their mother back home.
TMZ reports a brand new $US90,000 ($125,000) Lexus was waiting for Teresa in her driveway.
“The kids and Joe slept a little bit”, noted James, referring to the family’s anticipation of Teresa getting out.
She had been incarcerated due to her admitted role in a mortgage and bankruptcy scheme in which she and Joe Giudice lied to the government about their income and assets.
