Bill Cosby, in public and in private: A look back
Cosby has talked about drugging women in his comedy act since at least 1969, and there was even a reference to spiking barbecue sauce in an episode of “The Cosby Show“, Wilmore said. Then, around the 2:34 mark of what was a four-minute routine, Apatow launches into a series of jokes stemming from the recent New York Times article on Cosby’s 2005 deposition. “Do you think he’s still talking about it?” the “Trainwreck” director asked, showing off his best impression of the comedian.
Judd Apatow brought his crusade against Bill Cosby to Monday’s edition of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, blasting the 78-year-old during a stand-up set on the late-night show. Mimicking Cosby’s voice, Apatow pretended he was doing standup as the icon amidst all the controversy, saying, “You ever, like, get into the doghouse with the wife?”
“‘You ever been in trouble with the wife?” “My wife, she said to me, what is this in the paper about the raping and the drugging and the women?” So I got up at five in the morning and snuck out to the driveway to get the paper. I hid the paper, and the next day I got up and hid the paper, and the next day … “But Apatow brings it home with, “‘Do you like the house and the jet? “And I said, ‘Do you like your life? That’s where people who commit sexual assaults go”. “Well then have a cappuccino and shut the eff up”.
