Suns suspend forward Markieff Morris for 2 games
The Phoenix Suns suspended disgruntled forward Markieff Morris for two games for conduct detrimental to the team, the club announced on Friday.
Randy Foye scored a season-high 31 points, hitting seven 3-pointers in 16 attempts, and the Denver Nuggets bounced back from an embarrassing loss to beat the slumping Phoenix Suns 104-96 on Wednesday night. Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic confirmed the report and remarked general manager “Ryan McDonough will address the matter after today’s practice”.
As for Morris’ response last night regarding the tossed towel?
Following the game, Hornacek said the team would consider disciplinary actions.
Morris has repeatedly tweeted his desire in the off-season to be traded after the Suns dealt his twin brother Marcus to the Detroit Pistons. The forward had just six points on 2-of-8 shooting in 12 minutes, which continued a season-long slump after he made trade demands in the offseason. “There, I took him out”, Hornacek said after Wednesday’s game. So there, I took him out…He thinks he’s better than that.
After not playing a single minute in 7 of the previous 9 games, Morris has played sparingly in Phoenix’s last 4 outings. Now his departure from Phoenix (12-19) seems inevitable.
