Organizers of the protest say that the demonstration inside the nation’s largest mall was a diversion to distract from a pending protest at Minneapolis-St.
Earlier, hundreds of people had gathered at the Minnesota mall, one of the largest in North America, where organizers for Black Lives Matter had promised to assemble despite a judge’s warning that its owners could legally block the protest.
In their reports, airport police said they encountered resistance from the people they arrested.

Questioning the need for this sort of demonstration, Dayton also said that the call for the release of the video footage will have to wait, to reduce the risk of jeopardizing the integrity of the pending investigation.

After protesters entered the mall on Tuesday, officials warned many of potential arrests on charges of violating mall policy.
The airport said it closed some checkpoints “to prevent protesters from gaining access to secure area”, and warned travellers to give themselves extra time to make their flights. Officers arrested 13 protesters involved in the demonstration.
Although the police successfully dealt with Wednesday’s protests, new actions on the legislative front may be needed to take a pro-active stance against Black Lives Matter’s disruptions, wrote Walter Hudson.
Video posted on Twitter showed the demonstrators chanting “if we don’t get no justice then they don’t get no peace”, as snow fell on the road to the terminals.
Kandace Montgomery, one of three organizers barred by the judge’s order, said the group isn’t deterred by the ban.
“When you disrupt their flow of capital… they actually start paying attention”, she said.
