Track Santa LIVE on his world-wide flight that’s now underway
New York Air National Guardsmen and Royal Canadian Air Force personnel assigned to the Eastern Air Defense Sector (EADS) will play a key role Christmas Eve as the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) tracks Santa Claus and his reindeer.
As if all that tracking ability were not enough, at 6 a.m. EST, trackers worldwide can speak with a live phone operator to ask about Santa’s location by dialing the toll-free number 1-877-Hi-NORAD (1-877-446-6723) or by sending an email to noradtrackssanta@outlook.com. Thanks to the advent of the internet, it’s easier than ever to follow Santa on his rounds.
However you sure don’t need to worry for “Santa is Real” and you can track his progress on NORAD or Google Santa Tracker.
By the way, the history of NORAD’s Santa tracker is pretty cool.
The Jolly man in red has already visited children in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Kyrgyzstan, India, Afghanistan and Yemen, delivering over two billion gifts thus far.
Santa generally departs the North Pole, flies to the global date line over the Pacific Ocean, then begins deliveries in island nations. It also provides automatic updates on Santa’s location.
Sears published an ad which urged kids they could call Santa, but they accidentally listed NORAD’s number.
The Eastern Air Defense Sector is a North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) headquarters unit located at Griffiss Business and Technology Park in Rome.
Google and Microsoft had their virtual eyes on Santa Claus and his gift-laden sleigh on Thursday. The app lets you take a a short video of a room, such as in front of your fireplace or Christmas tree. Tens of thousands of those are directed to the Santa Claus House on St. Nicholas Drive. Instead of Santa, children reached the commander-in-chief’s hotline at CONAD, the U.S. Continental Air Defense Command.
“It’s very hard. Every family has traditions and we are unable to do that, but our goal is to make the best of everything that we can”, said Shawna Fozzard, Serenity’s Aunt.
The website is available in eight languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Chinese.
It’s all in an effort to give kids a tailor-made, Santa tracking experience. “Millions of people who want to know Santa’s whereabouts now visit the NORAD Tracks Santa website”, the release said.
This year’s journey began at 2:01 a.m. eastern time on December 24.
