Jurgen Klopp: Festive programme is harming England
Mignolet should replace Adam Bogdan, who dropped a corner which led to Watford’s opening goal, while Lovren could fill in for Martin Skrtel, who injured his hamstring at Watford.
“Martin is now missing and that is not ideal but it is not our place to complain about this”. We know very well our stamina is good and as long as our stamina is good we can continue to fight against anybody.
Despite having a bad few weeks in terms of results in the league, Liverpool players are still getting into the festive spirit at Melwood. He is available for Saturday.
“Mignolet is back. He trained normally today, and he’ll train normally tomorrow”, Klopp said.
“James Milner has no chance for Leicester. Milly has a calf problem”. Now we have to wait. “I shouldn’t be here halfway through the season because it means that things are not going well”. Klopp wants to strengthen Sturridge’s resistance levelsto avoid the constant injury niggles.
The England striker is not expected to be fit until mid-January after straining his muscle against Newcastle on 6 December.
“There is nothing to tell about that”, said Klopp on Thursday. “You have too many tournaments”. It was really disappointing for him.
Following their match against Leicester, Liverpool are away at Sunderland and West Ham United. Klopp previously coached Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. I can not say, ‘Come on, let’s do this together.’ We have to build it up. “If we don’t get anyone, we stick with the players we have”.
Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been drinking for all sorts of reasons this season, mixing celebration with commiseration, and they’ve raised their glasses in anticipation of Jurgen Klopp’s first signing for the club. Liverpool’s manager and players are capable of challenging. “We look similar but it seems in some ways we are really different”. That’s not how I think we should work. You can see it in my face sometimes. That is how it should be in football.
“I loved the game and I always tried to understand it a little bit better than the rest of the team because it was the only way to stay in the game”.
Klopp added: “I wasn’t surprised after seeing their performance”.
