State of Emergency Declare in Tennessee As Deadly Storms Move Through
The victims are a man and woman from perry county and a 22 year old man from rhea county.
This brings the total death toll to 14 people in Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee.
After the storm threat subsides, forecasters say the high temperature in Atlanta on Christmas Eve is expected to be 74.
Wednesday 2 people were killed in Perry County, a 70 year old man and his 69-year old wife who had just celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary.
National Weather Service officials from the Memphis and Nashville offices will also be conducting surveys to confirm tornado touchdowns. That would break the record for December 24, which is 72 degrees set in 1984. Crews that have been sent out to clear the area, however, are experiencing difficulties getting to the destination needing to be cleared.
The Weather Service says the mid-state may see more storms Thursday night.
Heavy rain already is falling in areas stretching across Alabama, from the MS state line west of Tuscaloosa to the Georgia state line east of Anniston.
