Emo Kylo Ren is the best new Twitter account of 2015
Little is known about “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” star Daisy Ridley before she got her global recognition with the current massive success of the George Lucas’ brainchild franchise’s latest installment.
Perhaps the biggest engima – or at least second to Supreme Leader Snoke – is just who the heck is this Rey girl who can wield The Force like no other in Star Wars: The Force Awakens? What Kylo Ren needs … is Twitter. A work of genius, fake Kylo’s tweets paints him as an angst-y, modern-day parent-hating teen.
He also pointed out that TIE fighters sound the same in space as they do on land, but all of the “Star Wars” movies drop science the moment you hear any sound in space.
Critiques of Rey’s hypercompetence – and here we abandon the term “Mary Sue”, never to look back – rest on a sloppy reading of “The Force Awakens”, and in many cases boil down to “She’s not enough like Luke”. But of course with these innumerable questions episode 7 gave us, only a handful of significant matters need to be addressed as soon as possible before we get to watch the next episode.
This could also explain why Han Solo has found Rey at that instance when the enemies were on her tail. As Tasha Robinson wrote at the Verge, “We wouldn’t be worrying about Rey’s excessive coolness if she were Ray, standard-issue white male hero with all the skills and all the luck”. We learned a lot about Kylo Ren and a fair amount about Finn, but there are still many mysteries around Rey.
At any rate, even if it was revealed in Disney Infinity that Kylo Ren and Rey were cousins, would it really matter? We could even go further and suggest that Rey may go a similar path to Anakin and turn to the Dark Side herself.
