Kim Kardashian sends apology after her Kimoji App breaks the App Store
Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has expanded her presence in the mobile industry and launched a new app featuring Kim-themed emojis.
Kardashian tweeted: Later, she tried to convince her fans that her app would be available on the App Store again soon.
Kardashian even apologised to Apple on Twitter for breaking the App Store.
Kimoji’s success should make up for the disappointment of Kardashian being displaced from 100th spot in the Media Guardian 100 power rankings by Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the UK’s Labour party, who has so far shown no interest in the branded emoji apps market. Moreover, all new apps take some time to get indexed on the store.
West acknowledged “some issues” in a tweet late Monday afternoon, which she attributed to “massive downloads”, then proclaimed “everything is fixed!” just before midnight.
“There were absolutely no issues with the App Store yesterday”, Apple said in a statement.
BBC however, isn’t too quick to jump to conclusions.
The app, which costs US$1.99 (RM8.55) to download, reportedly reached a record of 9,000 downloads per millisecond (via Forbes), at the height of its release earlier this week, causing the Apple App Store to overload and crash.
Kim has since alerted fans that her app is back up and running; go text someone her butt for Christmas!
