Setback to Congress as ex-MLA Khaira joins AAP
Congress spokesperson Sukhpal Singh Khaira Friday joined the AAP, alleging that AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi “compromised ideology in a bid to come to power in the state”. How has he started finding fault in the party, as “only on December 1 Khaira issued a statement hailing Amarinder’s appointment as the PCC chief saying it would mark the beginning of the end for the Akalis”, senior vice president of the Punjab Congress Laal Singh said.
“I was upset with Rahul Gandhi who always promised to bring honest and young people and qualitative change in the polity of India”.
He alleged that Amarinder was “hand-in-glove” with Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and as part of this “quid professional quo”, instances of corruption resembling Ludhiana City Centre rip-off and Amritsar Improvement Trust rip-off towards him “stood on the similar level” within the courts since final seven years.
“There is a secret understanding between two parties not to let third group to rise against them”, he alleged.
It is notable that Sukhpal Khaira is son of veteran Congress leader Sukhjinder Singh Khaira and was an ex-MLA of Congress from the area of Bholath. He said that he was found of “Kejriwal style” of politics. He said that Punjab Congress and SAD were two sides of a coin and repersent the same corrupt and feudal system.
“There is no opportunism in my joining the AAP”.
“Ask people of Delhi as how they are feeling after having made the AAP to rule them”, he said, adding that AAP has not been a failure but a complete disaster in Delhi.
On what responsibility be given to Mr. Khaira, AAP leader Sanjay Singh said: “He is joining the AAP unconditionally”.
