Giants’ Beckham loses appeal, will sit out Sunday’s Vikings game
He will not be allowed to play in Sunday night’s game against the Vikings at Minnesota. He’ll be reinstated Monday. Norman states that his intentional face mask of Beckham on the second play from scrimmage was a response to Beckham’s overblown reaction.
Beckham also had a run-in with a Panthers’ player in the pregame warmups.
The suspension was imposed by NFL Vice President of Football Operations Merton Hanks, who ruled that Beckham’s actions placed his opponents at unnecessary risk of injury and should have been avoided. “Regardless of the outcome of my appeal, I apologize for my actions on Sunday”. “We kept warming up, and I noticed (Ball) was coming back to our side of the field and got to about the 40-, 35-yard line”.
“It’s certainly an accumulation of instances and not just on Beckham”, Blandino said.
Manning returned to practice last week, but only for two days because he was too sore to continue. Beckham’s appeal of the suspension will be heard Wednesday.
Panthers coach Ron Rivera has denied his his team directed homophobic slurs at Beckham. The New York Giants wide receiver posted a six-sentence note to Twitter in which he wrote that he “dropped the ball on sportsmanship” in Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. Neither player was ejected, but Beckham was later suspended for a game. But he said Beckham has told him it has happened before this season.
The Inquisitr reported earlier on Wednesday that Beckham was not the only player to be punished for the events in Sunday’s game.
Good to see Beckham taking responsibility and stressing sportsmanship.
“You always want to put forward your best foot”. “They’re going to say some thing or the other”.
“Obviously during the game it wasn’t the first thought, but after the game, putting all the pieces together, I think it may have had an impact in the way Odell was acting”, Wing said. “I don’t know. He had a baseball bat”. “We’re a good football team. He had retreated and had his hands in the air, and (Norman) then body slammed him”, Wing said.
Wing believes Beckham was shaken by the incident.
“I think that’s any athlete’s mindset”, said Osweiler, who will make his sixth consecutive start Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals. Finally, Odell apologized to his coach and teammates for letting them down. “But I know that’s something he’s definitely had to deal with just by him communicating that to me”.
