Eagles hold on to defeat Buffalo Bills
The Bills came into Philadelphia with playoff aspirations but after 60 minutes of undisciplined football, it looks like another playoff-less year in Buffalo after the Eagle’s 23-20 win. Philadelphia is tied for the NFC East lead while Buffalo is only a game behind the Jets and Steelers for a possible wild card berth.
“To start the year the way we did and kind of dig ourselves in a hole, it was unlikely that we would be in this position this late in the year”, Bradford said.
Are you more confident in Sam Bradford now? It’s a no brainer when you jump off-sides.
“Jeff and me were both on the phone together and said, ‘All right, when are you going to make the call? We’re going to be sick if this one cost us (the playoffs), which it probably will”.
Buffalo out-gained Philadelphia 412 to 348 but penalties continued to stall drives.
Ryan said the Bills send clips of penalties they either disagree with or would like clarification on to the league each week. That’s not a winning formula.
Buffalo (6-6) continues to grow under new coach Rex Ryan and quarterback Tyrod Taylor. “We shot ourselves in the foot early on the season like that and we definitely can’t have those types of games”. The first series was marred by a holding penalty that couldn’t be overcome. And it’s a lesson that we should never do.
FOX Sports backed up the Inquirer claim, saying Kelly called McCoy back a few times but they did not connect.
The Eagles regained the lead in the second quarter with a lightning bolt of their own after a odd sequence of events. Taylor could be in for another big day against an Eagles defense that has allowed 18 passing touchdowns in the past five games.
Yet had the Bills won and McCoy had a good game, would he have faced the Philadelphia media triumphantly? First, Bills returner Marcus Thigpen muffed a punt and the Eagles recovered on their Bills 37.
The Eagles used an up-tempo, no huddle attack to march down the field on their first possession; capping off a nine-play, 61-yard drive with a one-yard Darren Sproles score. They were getting the ball to open the second half, so it was an opportunity to take control of the game.
