Sony Animation making an emoji movie because ¯_(ツ)_/¯
You know Hollywood is running out of ideas when there’s going to be a movie with emojis as the primary source material. Sony is betting we are. Granted we’ve been obsessed with emojis and it’s the fastest growing language, but an entire movie dedicated to emojis is like… WTF? Three studios bid-I’ve heard Warner Bros and Paramount were the others-but none more aggressively than Sony. That film, which features a voice cast including Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy, Matt Bomer and Seth Rogen, has been awaiting a release date, pulled from the schedule as DWA went through a restructuring.
What say you, is there a way to make an animated film about Emoji’s work? That makes this project a sort of no-brainer to get made.
